Merenye – the pearl of Baranya
The reservoir has 120 hectares of open water surface for fishing . Its average depth is 2.5 meters, the bed bottom is free of obstacles, forms a smooth surface without silt. All fishing spots of the lake can be reached by car, but due to the dirt roads, it is weather-dependent.
Accessibility: After Szigetvár, 11 km towards Barcs, on road 6, immediately after Görösgál, you have to turn right. From here, on a concrete road of about 5 km – through the village of Merenye – you can reach the last fork, where the lake becomes visible by turning right. The entire area of the lake is considered private land, and its entrance is fenced off with a barrier.
